Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat!! The boys are ready, so bring on the candy! Here's a few "dress rehearsal" pictures that we took a couple of weeks ago. We might be biased, but we think we have the cutest little lobster on the planet! Have a sweet and safe Halloween!!

Balloon Glow

On Saturday evening, we went to Bellingrath Gardens to their annual Balloon Glow. Every year, they have a bunch of hot air balloons land on their grounds for people to see. They also have a scarecrow contest, trick or treating for the kids, and the gardens are all decorated with lights. Unfortunately, this year it was a bit too breezy for the balloons, so we didn't get to see them, but we had fun anyway!

They demonstrated how the burners work.

This was scarecrow entry by the University of South Alabama.

A South of the Border scarecrow.

Seamus preferred the blue lights.

My First Trip To The Farm

Let me tell you all about my first trip to the farm!!!!
It was a beautiful day outside, so Daddy suggested that we take a trip to Seward Farm. We had so much fun!

First, Dad and I went to meet the Donkey.

He thought I looked like a tasty snack. I told him that I wasn't his food, and...

...I told him to be really gentle with me.

Then he decided to take a taste of Dad's elbow instead!

Next we paid a visit to the cow. He let me pet his nose.
The Goat wanted to say hi.

Mommy told me to be very careful because goats will eat just about anything!

I really liked the Shetland Ponies. They were very gentle.

I decided to give the Donkey another visit.

He showed me his BIG ears and I tried to put them in my mouth.

They painted the hay to look like my socks!!

The Piglets were hanging out by the pond.

They kept searching for something in the grass, and wouldn't let me pet them.

Daddy, Mommy, and I went on a hayride! Down here in Alabama, they grow a lot of cotton. Right before they harvest it and the plants are full, it looks like a snowy field. I haven't seen snow yet...that's just what my parents tell me.

This is the big tractor that pulled us on the hayride. Dad and I really need one of these!!

They had a cow train for little guys like me to ride!

Mom went with me, and I had a good time, but I almost fell asleep!

We had a great day and saw lots of neat things. Now, it's time for me to take a nap. Good night!

October Updates

I know some of you are looking for new posts so here are a few new pictures of Shay. I'm trying to figure out how to post video clips so that you can see Seamus in action! It's gotten cooler here which is a nice change. It's been dropping into the 40's at night so we had to turn on the heat last night. After living in the Rainbow State for the past few years, our blood has gotten a little thin!! Seamus is getting ready for his first Halloween and we will post those pictures soon!

One October update is that Dad got a new truck. He missed having our old truck, Rusty, around. Not that this new guy holds a candle to the personality that Rusty had, but Brendan is glad to have some help with landscaping and other household projects!

6 Month Stats

Seamus had his 6 month appointment today. The Dr. says he's doing great! 18 lbs. 7 oz., and
27 1/4 inches long. Good job, Shay! Keep eating!!
Daddy was very proud to see Shay playing with his tools.

Shrimp Fest 2007

This past Saturday we drove down to Gulf Shores, AL for the National Annual Shrimp Festival. It was a beautiful day and the shrimp were delicious!!

Shay sported his Marine outfit in honor of Uncle Mikey.

Seamus is 6 months old!!

Happy Birthday to Shay! Today he is 6 months old! We know it may seem a little odd to some of you to celebrate month by month, but we waited for him for a LONG time and we're just so grateful for his life!! He has 2 new teeth coming in on the top (looking a little like Dracula, just in time for Halloween). He's so close to crawling, but we're still working on the whole balance thing once he's on his hands and knees. He goes for his 6 month appt. on Monday, so we'll see what his stats are then!

Mmmm, Pickles!!

Mom shared her lunch with me today
and gave me a taste of her pickle.
It tasted kind of funny, but I got used
to it pretty quickly!!

More please!

Pumpkin Picking

We took Seamus to the local farmer's market to pick out his first pumpkin.

"How about this one, Dad? I bet it tastes good!"

Dad had a good time showing him all sorts of things.

"I don't know, Dad. Shouldn't we get a bigger one?"

"This is my first pumpkin!! Now what?"
