Foley Hot Air Balloon Festival 2009

Last Saturday, we drove over to Foley, AL for their annual hot air balloon festival. It's been super hot here for the past couple of weeks, so we waited until the evening to take the kids. In addition to the balloons, they had a big antique tractor display, a kids activity area complete with bounce houses, a frisbee dog show and live entertainment. Can you guess where we spent most of our time?? You guessed it! The tractors! Shay felt that it was his duty to try them all out.

The captain of his ship.

Malia was a trooper. She spent most of her time in the Bjorn, but she didn't seem to mind.

Superdad! On top of carrying both kids, I think he also had his backpack on in this picture. And if you were to ask him if you could carry something for him, he would've said, "I'm fine!"

There's that smile.
Shay was pretty tuckered by this point but he was able to muster up the energy to explore the fire truck before we left.

More Malia

So we've been lectured by one of our friends (Lindsay) and told that we have not been posting enough pictures of Malia. We've been taking pictures but we just haven't gotten time to post. But, for fear of our lives, here are some recent pics. Malia is now 2 months old and she is growing so fast! She has been stealing our hearts with her smiles and coos (this is not always easy to catch on camera). Her 2 month Dr. visit is this Thurs. so we will update her stats. Her Christening gown was the same one Mommy wore and was made by Great Grandma Hadro.
Shay has been such a good big brother. A quick story that really warmed Mommy's heart...one day last week, Mommy was busy in the kitchen trying to get breakfast ready. Shay was in his room playing and Malia was in her musical chair and was NOT happy about being there. Shay heard Malia crying and came into the kitchen to check on her. He walked over to her, bent down, and started talking to her, telling her that it was alright. Silence. As soon as he started talking to her, she stopped crying. It was a very tender moment.

Malia's Baptism

We've been pretty behind on posting photos to the blog, but today was a such a big day for the Hilleary Family that we had to post right away.
On the way into Church with Uncle Bryan.

Malia is baptized on Trinity Sunday!
